HTC Touch Viva Round Up 2

Well it's been another month now, and the HTC Touch Viva still works fine!

I've begun to notice one quirk with it now. After leaving it on for extended periods of time, somehow the music files that get played back seem to go weird. They start to play at a slightly accelerated rate, causing some songs to sound like they were sung by Alvin and the Chipmunks.

One thing that I'm beginning to appreciate is the calendar function! Nowadays I don't have to scramble to plan anything in future nor scratch my head to find the day for a certain dead. No siree, now the calendar is just one tap away!

One thing that I still abosolutely adore, and think makes up the best part of this phone, is the Wifi capabilities. This is cuz in times where there are no computers for me to use, I can just go online with my HTC! =DDD

Workaholic Mode: Engage

Hello all, I bring depressing news. I have just found out recently that due to back to back jobs, I will be working 7-days a week. For the entire July.

I guess you can know what's coming next. That due to this, my blogging will take a huge hit. Might not blog for very very long periods (or the opposite, if stuff are interesting enough to warrant it. I highly doubt it though D:). That's not to say that I've been blogging very often, though.

And in case you haven't heard yet, Transformers 2 is awesome! For two reasons only! Megan Fox. What? She has two perfectly good reasons mounted on that glorious chest of hers =D

With that said, there are quite a number of things that don't fit in the movie. I could list them out myself, but I think I would do better by pointing you to this site instead:

In Case You Didn't Know or Have Been Living Under a Shell

The King of Pop aka Michael Jackson has been pronounced dead. He died of a heart attack sometime early this morning. A lot of people older than me will surely mourn this day. While I won't say I'm a huuuuuuuuge fan of him, I must admit he did churn out some pretty good songs, some that I enjoy listening to even till this day.

The King of Pop left this world today, leaving behind for us a string of hit albums, singles, great music videos and possibly molested children. RIP MJ

Office Updates!

It's kind of a slow day here, so here goes.

1. Will be going back to uni later today and possibly tomorrow as well. Miss Foo has finally started bugging everyone (dunno really everyone or not) into submitting videos for the Astro Yada-yada Competition. Of course it's not named the Astro Yada-yada Competition, I just can't bloody remember its name.

2. In case you guys don't know, my office runs completely on Macs. There isn't a single PC in the office :O
Almost the permanent staff have their own Macbooks, and there are a couple of iMacs lying around the office for the other permanent staff to use. Of all of them, one was like the supreme God of desktop Macs. It was recently purchased before I arrived here, and I had the privilege to use it.

In case you didn't notice, I said "was". The reason being is that it first got infected by some virus and had to be fixed. Small thing there. But barely 2 days after its return, our office gets broken into. They only stole the brand new Mac -____-

3. It's been a slow week at the office in general, actually. The reason for this is that there are no active jobs at the moment. I've overheard that there may be a job soon, but only discovered that "soon" will be somewhere in July.

The good news: No current jobs till July; meaning no stretches of long hour work days.
The bad news: No current jobs till July; meaning another boredom marathon for the next few weeks.

p/s: I think I've run out of things to read on the Internet. IMPOSSIBLE! D:

Facebook Makes You Dumber! Or Does It?

Omaigawd! I finally have something to comment on!

Some article in the NST's tech section today talked about the link between social networking sites (Facebook, specifically) and falling grades. Now, at this point of reading the article (the title lol), I think it's quite plausible. Then, it all goes downhill from there.

In the study, Facebook users have an average GPA of 3.0 - 3.5, while non-users score 3.5 - 4.0. Hmmmmm, this seems fishy.

Then it goes on to say that Facebook users study a total of 1 - 5 hours a week, as compared to non-users who study 11 - 15 hours a week.

So, let's see, near perfect grades, many hours spent studying. This all sounds like ...

NERD ALERT!!!!1111!!!!one!!

Seriously, which normal teen/young adult spends 11 - 15 hours a week studying??? That's like 1.5 hours per day! And even without Facebook, surely there are other things to do online. Guys can have access to a limitless prawn library, while girls can er, window shop online. Clearly the respondents for non-Facebook users were nerds! Or fags! Or a combination of both!

Production!

So, I've finally had one production ever since my last post. It was great!

I finally got to see how people perform shoots in real life, how things are managed. What's even more interesting is watching all the technical aspects of a production. Film cameras are freaking huge O.o

Also, got to finally witness how people use tricky angles to shoot a person when they're driving. I took some pictures but am too lazy to upload them wtf. K la, I'm afraid I'm not exactly legally allowed to upload them either. Basically, some required the crew to take out the entire backseat of a car, while some required the crew to build a rig to attach to the car.

That's done for now. I don't think there are other productions in the mean time. Which means the next week is gonna be a sloooooooow one D:
